"Moana" is a Disney animated film that tells the story of a young Polynesian girl named Moana Waialiki, who is chosen by the ocean to restore the heart of Te Fiti, a goddess whose heart had been stolen by the demigod Maui, causing darkness to spread across the ocean.

The story begins with Moana as a young girl, being drawn to the ocean despite her father, Chief Tui's, warnings about its dangers. She learns from her grandmother, Tala, about her ancestors' voyaging past and their connection to the sea. Tala encourages Moana to follow her heart and explore beyond the reef, despite the islanders' strict tradition of staying close to home.

Years later, Moana is chosen by the ocean itself to return the heart of Te Fiti, which had been stolen by Maui in his quest for power. Despite her initial reluctance, Moana sets sail on a journey to find Maui and convince him to return the heart.

Along the way, Moana faces numerous challenges, including a run-in with the Kakamora, coconut-armored pirates, and Maui's own reluctance to help her. However, through determination and bravery, Moana eventually gains Maui's assistance, and together they confront the fiery demon Te Kā, who guards Te Fiti's island.

After a fierce battle, Moana realizes that Te Kā is actually Te Fiti, corrupted by the loss of her heart. Moana bravely walks towards Te Kā, returning the heart and restoring her to her true form. With the darkness lifted, peace is restored to the ocean and the islands.

Moana returns home, confident in her identity and her connection to the sea. She becomes the new chief of her people, embracing both their traditions and the voyaging way of her ancestors. The film ends with Moana and her people setting sail on new voyages, guided by the stars and the spirit of adventure.
